Poem -

defeated.

Her heart is blistered,
Her soul is baring,
No shelter,
Nor deep caring,
Her mind is scrambled,
Her dreams are shambled,
How could you,
Your so daring,
Unkind,
Uncaring,
In doubt you raised her high,
You never caught her dreams,
You let them die,
One thousand needles in her eye,
You turned your back,
You made her cry,
No shelter
Nor caring,
With every lie,
Your a shameless man,
No empathy,
That's why,

I picked her up and built her strong,
Replaced her dreams,
With loving song,
I held her hand while you weren't there,
Re stitched her heart,
In loving care,
No tear un condoled,
No dreams she cannot mould,
Nor depleted,
Your intoxication,
Defeated.

I could not help but think of a father mistreating the daughter and the mother healing the daughter's wounds. This poem is rich with emotion, hurt, and rejuvenation. A great write indeed.

Haunting memories,..."I hold her hand while you weren't there, Restitched her heart, In loving care, No tear un condoled, No dreams she cannot mould,.."...unfaithful nature of a father is obvious,...very true.

Wonderful poem. I thought the speaker would be the defeated one, but the intoxicator was. I loved that plot twist! Lol i could always use some helpful poetry advice from you!

Dearest amber, indeed the intoxicant was defeated, i was writing about situations that involved my child, and how i got her out of where her father placed her, i built her back up, to not be affected by him anymore, id love to answer any questions you have, or offer any advice, would be an honorable means,
love to you sweetheart xx Nardine xoxo
