Deliver Me

Deliver Me

Deliver Me

Lord I feel I am sinking just like a stone
Stay by my side don’t leave me all alone

Please shine your holy light on me
Let me be all that it is I can be

Place your love on this broken heart of mine
Say my heart will heal all in good time

Lord I feel my hopes sinking in quicksand
Won’t you lend me your almighty hand?

Deliver me from the murky shadows of black
Allowing faith and love to find their way back

It is on the wings of an eagle I want to fly
Fly forever until my time comes to die

My love crashed down upon a lonesome beach
That is when I assumed happiness was out of reach

I long for happiness like when I was just a boy
A lifelong adventure rich with love and joy

When the flowers bloom in the summer sun
I want to again feel my life has just begun

When the autumn leaves are taken by the wind
Lord somehow allow my new life to just begin

Want to journey back to where my soul is at home
And the earth I will no longer feel the need to roam

I got lost somewhere down this thorny path
My soul needs your help to find my way back

Can you turn my skies from black to blue?
And let me bathe in the sun’s golden hue

Lost in love is the destination where I long to be
Lord open the lock and set my heart forever free
