Poem -

DEMONS

I left me alone with my demons
Allowed them to try and take hold.
I feel them moving in my veins
Hear screams bloodcurdling and cold.

I allowed my demons to have their say
Something I've stopped in the past
I forced myself to listen
And felt my heart blacken fast

Now I find myself in turmoil
Of which one I am any more
The man sinking under the pressure
Or the one with the steely hard core

We all have our very own demons
That we try to battle each day
And If we listen to them just once
They will get things their very own way

Be careful, be wary, be strong my friends
And don't let them in to your heart
They will claw and gnaw at your insides
Til they finally rip you apart.

I left me alone with my demons
What a terrible thing to have done
I left me alone with my demons
And now my nightmares begun.
