Depression
A familys left behind
They thought the world looked dreary, so they
closed their eyes to pray,😔🙏
But they listened to the voices, the ones that
Told them to not stay.🗣
They tried to find their meaning and they tried to find a way🧘♂️🧖♂️
but once again those voices wouldn't let them
disobey.👤
By now they couldn't find their answer,
and believed their was no way out, ⏳⌛
the voices were louder,
and had all began to shout.📢🔊🔔
The voices were persistent,
and louder than the good,🌘
and in a moment of sorrow, they gave up all they could.🌑
They couldn't find their answer, and they'd lost
all their self worth, 🌪
And the voices that were yelling, wouldn't let
them stay on earth! 🌍
So they cleansed their earthly bodies and
prepared to end their life,🧖♂️🛀
The battle with the voices, had taken all their
strife.❤💣🖤
When the angels came to guide them and take
them up above, 🌬☁️🕯
its here they realised, their life was full of love.

What an incredible poem. Sad and full of emotion ending with an uplifting message. Very relatable. Life is full of love but sometimes it's really hard to see it. You have really well described the voices a lot of people feel with depression. I loved the rhyme and it had excellent rhythm. Great share. Sending good vibes and light always ❤☀

Hi Amz a few things stuck me when reading your poem here. The first being, it is beautifully written and written with absolute love. The second that it is truly heartfelt. My partner / dad to my five children took his life in April 2019 after a struggle with mental health 😔
I have found poetry to be a huge release for me.
My cousin later took his life in 2020, he too struggled with mental health and in both cases "the voices" seem to be a very relevant part of depression.
