Desert of Depression

Desert of Depression

Depression was my home,
A place I walked alone,
Just wandering in the dark,
No light found in my heart.

A trail of desert sand,
It led me through dry land,
And roaming on my own,
The silence making known.

But then I saw a light,
Which opened up from sky,
A ray of sun to find,
My hope as finally mine.

He called me by my name,
A voice that told the way,
And grace He gave to drink,
The water of true peace.

I left that town of dust,
Which I escaped as such,
Redeeming back my days,
And joy to be my strength.
