Poem -
Destiny
Is there such a thing as destiny.
a path set out just for me.
what if i want to do my own thing.
but its not in destiny's writing.
do i really have no control.
am i destined to just grow old.
is my destiny something great.
do i seriously have to wait.
is there anything i can do.
or will that just be destiny too.
or is it all a laughable joke.
a story told to a gullible bloke.
do i indeed write my own quest.
are my cards at my chest.
can i really make my life better.
by writing poetry letter by letter.
do i choose which way to go.
be a writer then grow old.
do i really have a say.
or must i wait and pray.
can i decide what is best for me.
or am i a slave to destiny?

You awaken to the fact that in the real world there aren't
always Fairy Tale endings. And that any guarantee of
"happily ever after" must begin with you. And in the process
a sense of serenity is born of acceptance

Simon! Excellent "think" piece! We are responsible for our own happiness and we have a life time to enjoy it. I write poetry and stories because it gives me the ability to traverse any world I care to investigate. Love, lust, horror, happiness, surreal, etc. I'm sure you will have an adventurous time as you write more and more.
