Device

The human body is now deceased
A prototype to say the least
It seems its maker’s plans diminished
What God has started, man will finish

At the time of your birth is when they will start
Encoding your mind, and replacing your heart
Enhancing your eyes, and reworking your ears
And replacing your insides with wires and gears

For the age of flesh is a thing of the past
Skin and bone weren’t made to last
Steel and iron are the new vaccines
To produce the breed of man-machines

To hope, fear, love, and hate
Are all extinct and forgotten traits
Simply pretend, that should suffice
No need for them when you’re a device
