The Diamond Found In The Dirt
Let's take a trip back,
It was 1992
A young lady had a baby,
she didn't know what to do
She didn't have any
money
Fortune
Luck
Or a house,
Just a baby boy,
Not even a spouse,
As the years passed
She noticed her boy
Was gifted
By the time he could
Write her mentality
Shifted,
She noticed he didn't
Need toys
Candy
Or even kin
Just sit him in a dark room
And supply him
Him with a pen,
Suddenly there was
Light
She knew it deep within,
This baby was a diamond
with ghetto dirt
in his mist,
Born highly favored,
John The Baptist
He struggled to coexist
Reminisced in the midst
At times he would get
Pissed
Because he was born
With a lisp,
Again just his pen,
He never fought with his fist,
He had the heart of
a lion,
In order to be beat,
You would need
the heart of Jesse Owens
In a early track meet,
Jack Churchill in the mist
of World War II,
Also probably the
money of the mighty Maloof's.
The diamond in the dirt,
Was finally set free
The outside world
Came to know
this star to be
I set out to
Find him
But he was absentee
Until my mom gave
me the mirror of life,
I found out the
Diamond was me...

Very introspective
A touch of buckowski
Nice write
Jude
Wow.. thanks so much Jude. For my name to even be in the same breath as Mr. Buckowski is a honor. But I do share similar styles with him. Thanks so much
Jesse,
A borrowed quote from Cherie...."The pen is mightier than any
sword," (on any given day)...use it with care!
A borrowed quote from Stephen, cool write, keep writing man, (The
world be your oyster and you it's pearl.)..And a borrowed
quote from Jude, Very introspective, a touch of buckowski, which now
belongs, to you as well and (you work it quite well....)
Could not have been said any better, than they have adorned upon
you...You rock partner, you rock...You got your grove on Jesse, don't
relinquish it, for nobody are nothing thing.. A pen, with blood for
ink, have you and may all your poems, be written in precious blood,
richer than any kings ransom, finer than any divine aged wine and
blessed with and through, the anointment of a loving and close knit
nurture, by his mentor and idle, his loving mom........Self portrait
of a poetic, diamond in the rough.....
Wonderful write,
Jim

You do me honored service to place me anywhere above my shadow...only dont tell this dark companion...however...what you say and how you map it out...smile...A word Artist is a rare poet...indeed...not that you have to...but that you can...smile...deep are the emotions that bring into focus your intent...smooth are the lines that convey her whom you love...sure the purposes in your making known...blessed is the woman you hold dare...for we see how you adore your Mother...smile...nj.
