Dirty Dishes Disposed

Dirty Dishes Disposed

John’s boys,  18 and 20,
did not like cleaning their dishes
and putting them away.

The poem Dirty Dishes,
author unknown says,
 Dirty dishes
“…tell us we are not hungry…
and God has been good to us.”

Dad warned the young men;
they were to wash their dishes
since they lived in Dad’s apartment.
They left dishes, silverware
and cups unwashed
in the sink that night.

The next day
Johnny and Greg
came home from work
and made dinner,
only to find
the dishes in the cabinet
and silverware in the drawer
and the dirty dishes in the sink
were gone.

“Dad,  where are the
dishes and silverware?”

I threw them in the trash.
You may go to the store and
buy a new set of both.
Every time you leave
dirty dishes in the sink,
they too will go in the trash!
MY DISHES AND
SILVERWARE AND
CUPS

are in my bedroom.

Johnny and Greg
began washing
their dishes.
