Dirty Linen

Few men know pain like a poet knows pain
nothing craves sky like a kite ..
Yet the very essence of life lays discarded
                                                                           alongside those bloody overalls
that she, discretely disposed of last night ..

Just flicking through quickly and came upon this. Really love this one Nev...maybe because it has such a basic  truth to it...life is discarded amid any kind of suffering...there is simply no room for it or the appetite. But more than that... this particular write works so well in conveying meaning
'nothing craves sky like a kite'
'bloody overalls' etc...wish I'd written this...love it X

Really glad you enjoyed Nev...fallen in love with Cardiff...lol...I won't even drive there but I suppose its good for gigs etc...like a mini London lol. Didn't even realise Dylan was over here till you said. Last time I saw a concert in Cardiff it was Stereophonics and I might be going back 15 years or so here. X

that's similar to what I thought .. a mini London .. I plan on returning as soon as someone I enjoy is playing there .. it is such a great venue, not too big or impersonal : x

Come on ...spill...last concert I went to was Dermot Kennedy...Bristol...he was little known then...he is huge now...was Judds hero of the moment lol...I treasure that memory even though he bought tickets for his man fir my birthday lol and I ended up paying extortionate taxi and train fares lol. If onkt we knew what was in front I wouldn't have felt self conscious all night about being too old!! Though...I really was the oldest swinger in town that night ...awful when you're body doesn't match your music taste lol 😂 😆😆😆
