Disdainful Loneliness

Disdainful Loneliness

Being alone is like drifting through a sea of darkness

It can be hellish

Being alone is like looking into a window and seeing everything but the light

It can be serene.

I know it seems silly to feel lonely when there is so much

It is something you mustn't judge

For if you judge the empty souls among you,

Thou shalt be judged accordingly.

You mustn't look at them with disdain,

But otherwise with empathy,Β

For they know not how to escape the bottomless void they float in,

and they are counting on you to see that they need somebody.

All they can let themselves see is a miasma of what was once a beautiful world to them

All they can see is darkness,

And once they let in that silk, serene, disdainful loneliness,

They inevitably believe that they cannot lock up that darkness.

These beings need someone; a savior.

Whether yeΒ be dressed in white or in rags,

You can save them;

You can save them all.
