Independent Thoughts

Independent Thoughts

I sit in my chair

And I look down at my paper.

I wonder

What am I feeling today?

Anger? Maybe grief?

No. Those emotions are too simple.

Could it be joy or possibly depression?

Maybe, maybe not.

I look at my photos

And I think,

Who am I? Who is this person I look so infatuated with?

My thoughts begin to consume me

And all I feel is anxiety and confusion.

I then look back at my photos

And I say, "I'm Happy."

My emotions suddenly don't feel so mixed upΒ

And I recognize the people I see before me:

Myself and My Love.

I finally feel closure within my Independent Thoughts.
