Poem -

Distracted

23/03/2021

Distracted.

With way too much for my medicated  mind and brain to take.

Everyday I lose what I was thinking or talking about,

Losing my train of thought.

My mind could be saying yes carry on,

Or could be simply,

Mission abort.

I always did have a goldfish type attention span.

My memory's awful.

I forget things,

That only moments before,

I’ve just been taught.

I hate it.

I feel like I’ve dementia,

Hidden in a 35 year old man’s mind.

I can’t remember mid sentence,

Once distracted,

However important it may be.

The answer are so hard,

If ever,

To find.

I'm sure my memory vault is there,

Yet looking for it has me in a bind.

Distractions are my enemy.

They make my thoughts all turn blind.

I just wish I could finish a sentence,

Without having to hit rewind!

James! You caught me at the most inconvenient time!!! I`ll be back later to comment though. Pinned for a reread.

This was an emotional read, I felt so much frustration for you. Your words flowed beautifully and chimed at the end with the rewind. But gosh did I have a heavy heart by the end. A brilliant piece of writing 👏✨ 🌻
