Do you know what it's like
When eyes flutter wide
To stare at a ceiling
While inside resides 
The most terrible torment
Things are not right
Take this soul back to the dark endless night
Where oblivion waits with a comforting touch
And silence engulfs in a soft gentle hush
Out of the turmoil, no longer to fight
Out of the sunshine, curse on a light
That sends
Long pinching fingers 
To reach yet again
For the soul that cries out in its anguish and pain
Who made it come here
And why should it stay
To suffer through minutes and hours and days
When words cannot sooth it
With peace never found
The silent screams choke it
And fear abounds
It swims in dark waters that drag it back down
Always to struggle
Never to drown
Do you know what it's like?
This soul longs to wander
This soul longs to roam
This soul longs to be free
Take this soul home.
