Poem -

Do you love, love?

Do you love, love?

Do you love, Love?
It sure as hell doesn’t feel like it sometimes
Yes there’s been many of times when
It seemed that you loved, love
But at times
I don’t even know
Watching your children grow
Shows me you love, love.
But how can you love everything?
Anything
You seem so rootless
But how are you?
When plants grow with love, love?
How can a man love his wife and kids
But then all of a sudden find himself
Addicted
To drugs
Oh he’s in love
Happiness found in false images
Cast upon the screens of his eyes
Oh how you love, love
I miss when you would show me in ways
Of music to my ears
When I was still wet behind them
Clothes on my back
Basking in my freedom
In fact
There was a time I didn’t know anything other than love, love
But then I found out
About people chewing each other up and spitting them out
Missles sent on Christmas
Lashings for the sake of god
Whom they claimed to love
Love?
Is this how you love, love?
Or is it that you specify
As means to why
Love should be spread upon
Bread with butter knives
Or through the voices of choice
Whose knives are lashing those
Not like them.
How do you u love, love?
Do you love me
Do you love me not?
Should I show whom I’m devout?
Or are you just a word
Mis used by swords and butter knives
Chocolate cakes and arsenic
Are we poisoned by your word of choice
Simply because
We find fond of personal trappings
And definition
Of the self
For the love of GOD
You prick and prod
At those that are different
And claim you’re innocent.
Because your word was found
In twisted mouths
And haughty eyes
Sending blazes cross the sky
You ask them why oh why
They must
It’s always whom they put their trust
In God, or them, not you, but us
It doesn’t seem you ever loved, love
I wish you’d love, love
I’m at your mercy
Because love for me
Has made me a train wreck
Finding the comfort I need
Through cigarettes and weed
Falsely make me Happy
For the moment
I wish you’d change your definition of love, love
I think someone hurt you
And you’ve given up
But in a fucked up way
I have to say
Maybe
It’s not you
Maybe
It’s US
