The Doctrine

The Doctrine

What is it to lead?
Should one be mighty and strong?
Or is it better to simply know
The difference between right and wrong;
You can have all of these and more
And you can lead, but on a borrowed clock
For in the end, you will no doubt
Have to take stock
For it is said, quite clearly
Within the Doctrine of the Mean
He who leads with no Sincerity
Leads man away from the path
Further from the singleness
That is Heaven and Earth
He who leads with no Intelligence
Will bring a premature death following his birth
So say the Doctrine, be it common sense
Or suffer a Heaven and Earth filled with wrath
And Hell will be on Earth forth-hence.
