Domestic violence

Domestic violence

Just coming home from school,

Asking mum if I can go to the pool

I stop and stare at what I see…

A big black eye staring at me!

I start to cry

She asks me why

I yell “Your eye”!

She says to sit, and gives me some pie

I start to munch down

When I notice her frown

I put down my fork

And she begins to talk

“It was your father you see,

He did this to me”

Why would he do that?

“I don’t know, but he threw a cat”

Isn’t his medicine working?

“No, and his dark side is now lurking…

Pack your things we’re leaving

Just don’t go too fast, he’ll hear you breathing
