Sonnet - Friendship

Sonnet - Friendship

When Friendship darkens, and comfort is lost
One may wish to seek out the soft moon and stars
Your cold and empty heart may start to defrost
As you begin to remember your past scars

The Journey we all embark on to gain new friends
And all the sacrifices we make to get them
Troubles strike, we should be able to make amends
Some friendships are brittle, like a plant stem

True friends should relate to you like no other
They are the people that I can reveal my soul to
Friends should always be there to help each other
Through thick and thin, they should always be there for you

Best friends today are never truly apart
Perhaps in distance, but never at heart
