Don't Forget Our History

 Concrete footings of progression,is needed so our community may thrive
But please don't forget our ancestors efforts,we need to keep their memories alive
 Our town has a mention in the Domesday Book
But obviously,we we don't need to go that far back,just stop,take a look
 Local history is all over,we need to just look around
In the Top Wood and fields that surround us,our history can be found
 In our town is a monument,of men killed at the pit
At the cenotaph,listings of service men killed,think of the things that they did
 Our schools that educated for many long years,sadly burned to the ground
It won't be long before everything's gone,only memories to be found
