Don't Give Up

As this week ventures slowly,
Towards its closing end.
My thoughts again arise,
Of faults that I might mend.
To my fervent soul I'll vow,
Of things that I can see.
To make myself the person,
I'd candidly like to be.
Be resolved to keep myself,
In buoyant frame of mind.
Forget hubris and harder try,
To all people to be kind.
Then put myself more often,
In all other mortal's shoes.
Never ignore praising words,
And give them their just do's.
Say no word to hurt a friend,
In silence I shall stay.
Never do anything to cause,
Another's foot to go astray.
I'll perform my daily tasks,
In ways they should be done.
And choose not to forget,
All of us need a little fun.
United we can partake in,
These virtuous things to do.
A pleasant world this would be,
If others adopt them too.
In life there lies a choice,
That dwells in you and me.
To quit or proudly triumph,
And set our true spirit free.
Believe in yourself.
Simply believe.
Don't give up.
**************************************************************
Drop a dream into the water,
In a moment it is gone.
But there are many ripples,
Circling on and on...
When facing life's many worries,
All storms you will pass through.
You will garnish many strengths,
And new found courage too.
You have often felt trapped,
And so dreamed of being free.
You will fulfil your potential,
Becoming who you want to be.
For no goal worth attaining,
Is ever easy to achieve,
It takes work and dedication,
And the power to believe.
Believe in yourself.
Simply believe.
Don't give up.

Jim many thanks and glad you enjoyed reading it and how are you?
Hope everything is fine and dandy and all shipshape with your good self and not forgetting your poetry, which I'll be catching up with tomorrow.
Just got back earlier today from the holiday hotel from hell just like that movie Guest House Paradiso.
And glad to be back where civilisation has the ability to have electricity that constantly works and the ability to make fire!
Thank you for your uplifting comment and Greg, your good self and Tony Taylor and others also I'll be visiting and reading tomorrow.
But in the meantime take care and I wish you well Jim and thanks again.
Greg many thanks for pinning, liking and five stars and from tomorrow will be reading your good self with better and clearer eyes and head.
Just returned this morning from a break abroad and bloody glad to be back, for it was the worst Spanish hotel we have ever stayed at, or should I say grimily endured.
Still I hope all is well with you and forgive me for asking you, but are you a golfing man?
But in the meantime thank you so much for your kindness and for enjoying this write.
See and read you tomorrow Greg for your first port of poetry call and that's a promise sir.
Tony many, many thanks for liking and the five stars so generously you have bestowed and any kudos from you is warmly welcomed.
I hope all is well and hunky-dory with you and just taken some time off, but glad to be back and just for the record will be making inroads to your latest poetry offerings tomorrow and like everything I've read by you, there won't be any cause for disappointment, for there never is.
Just poetic enlightenment and to learn from.
Nos da Tony, I wish you well and Love and Rockets to you my friend.

And just for the record Peter Gabriel wrote his magnificent song as a v's up to Thatcher and all her draconian policies against Britain's working classes, especially the miners.
A great uplifting song with the great and beguiling Kate Bush.
