Don't Put Too Much Faith

Don't Put Too Much Faith
γ
No longer find I can put too much faith
In the growing numbers of the human race
Like endless seeds carried by the wind
They scatter on the wind and begin again
Been baptized and had my own rebirth
Witness as the wicked ensnare the earth
In a world full of religion and churches
It's certainly not God but money some worship
While war and disease continually on the rise
Poverty kills and pollution chokes our skies
Every year eleven million innocent children die
Acid rain falls as Mother Nature tearfully cries
A time for broken families to gather close
And rediscover what means the most
Our once beautiful oceans wash up oil and debris
Loggers put to death all our old growth trees
God's creatures trapped and slaughtered for their fur
And diseases of human creation bearing no cure
The culling of wild animals has become an art
Surely there are some who still possess a heart
People living extended sentences to aids and crack
I hope we still have time to turn the clocks back
I can close my eyes to all I have seen
Wash my hands but they won't come clean
Mankind with his bombs and his guns
World war three has nearly begun
The eagle watches over as wars wage
So many people living in a gilded cage
There has been war, famine and drought
Itβs up to each one of us to put the raging fire out
