Dont turn your back

Dont turn your back

Dont turn your back on your mother,

She, who gave you life through birth,

She gave the very air you breathe

She,................................Mother Earth.

Her lungs, the polar ice, is melting

The summer sun grows hot and sweltering,

Her trees chopped down without replacement,

Her people are fleeing through war displacement.

Yet,

We turn our backs,

We look to our childrens future

But ignore the widening cracks.

Poets write of love,

Religions of their god above,

We marvel at the roaring surf,

But we turn our backs

On Mother Earth.
