Don’t Upset The Golf Cart

Don’t Upset The Golf Cart

.
I live in The Villages, Florida, the largest Senior development in the U.S.A.;
Over a hundred fifty thousand, and it’s growing every day!
The biggest attraction is the golfing, with over fifty courses here to choose;
Over six thousand people play each day, no other place like it, says the News!

.
Most people have in their garages, a golf cart on which they ride;
To take them to any destination, wherever they may decide!
But that’s my bone of contention, for these vehicles are not safe;
And often there are misfortunes, where bones and skin are chafed!

.
For people drive them like they’re playtoys, these instruments of death;
They handle them so recklessly, then afterwards are so bereft!
Their passengers will fly out, when they have an accident;
Some with months of painful surgeries, and rehab to be spent!

.
Then there are others who don’t make it, they die from injuries sustained;
When they should have been in an auto, and from a golf cart have refrained!
Six months ago I sold ours, for it does not take a sage;
To realize, “Why risk my life to drive a golf cart, I’d rather live to a ripe old age”!

I wish others would realize too that it's not worth keeping the golf cart and sell it....it's not worth dying before...Thanks for sharing this with us....nicely written

Love you

My Dear Sweet Rose,

Even if they would not sell them, and just realized how dangerous they were, would be a step in the right direction.  Maybe they would take their feet off the pedal, and put their brains on the brakes. Thank you for your lovely understanding.

Love you too,
Daddio xxx

Larry, my dear friend...

Dispose of that deadly golf cart
To allay the concerns of your heart
But the girls (in their pride)
Love a Guy with a Ride
Who can drive them quite mad from the start!

your friend & fan,

J ;)

My dear friend, Jason,

You yourself don't need a golf cart
To drive a girl quite mad
For the moment Linda saw your "dear" name
Her heart was no more sad

Peace and love,

Hi Larry, I haven't heard of any golf cart accident here.### It's too childish to consider it as a leisure vehicle. Only with a valid driver's license should be allowed to ride and not on public roads.## or better still, just walk !!!

Hugs, peace and love

Leah

My Dear Leah,

The golf carts are driven mostly on golf cart paths, paved especially for them.  But sometimes, they have to be driven on streets, with the golf cart lane on the right side.  There have been numerous serious accidents with automobiles, and golf carts trying to merge.  But there have also been major mishaps on the golf cart paths, i.e., driving drunk, speeding, taking corners too fast, and slamming on the brakes to name a few.  Even worse, some of these people let their grandchildren drive, who are supposed to be at least fourteen, but we know aren't, which is stupid in itself, because as you said, you should have to have a driver's license before operating one.  Thank you so much for your interest.

Hugs, Peace and Love,
Larry xxx
