Poem -

down to the shore we go

seaweed around my ankles
dragging me
                   down
                            down
                                     down.
bubbles of my voice fading
like the light from above.
blackened soul to
blackened eyes.
nothingness becomes      limitless.
becomes blinding,
burning retinas.
fanning internal flame.
a monsoon of passion washing over
engulfing
trying to whisk away
trying to enter lips.
there it is.
my happiness    my love     my peace
on the sand.
after gifting another chance at life.
after vanquishing a cruel fate.
they didn't stay.
into the water they dove.
i blinked           POOF
a sea of cotton swallowing me
my place of solace a home
for broken dreams.
