DragonFlies (written by my 87 year old Father-In-Law)

Sitting on my front porch in the middle of a wood,
Sipping morning coffee in a very contented mood.

Suddenly I saw a dragonfly, then two and soon a swarm,
I just sat back enjoyed the sight as my coffee was still warm.

Then the sun began to shine and a bird began to sing,
As the sunshine began to flicker with flutters of dragonfly wings.

I will never forget this moment, a moment so serene,
To see hundreds of dragonflies dressed in majestic green.

I’m so fortunate to be a witness to nature’s vivarium,
And as the swarm flew past me their wings beating like a drum
I was alone in my contentment but with a feeling sort of numb
Then closed my eyes and all I heard was the vanishing sound Hum Hum Hum Hum
