Lily

~~The Day that I will never forget is the day that I met Lily,
She was oh so shy and the morning was a little chilly.
I gently put my arm around her, hoping for the best,
She was very receptive, so I knew I passed the test.

I thought I would like to kiss her, but I might frighten her away,
Instead we took a stroll to town then along the ocean bay.
I was so proud to see the crowd looking at Lily and me,
Some of the boys were envious; some said it could not be.
Some even said that Lily was too good for me!

When I got home she was so pleased,
She looked around at the pond and all the tall shade trees.
Just beyond the lily pond there was a nature trail,
This was the spot that pleased her most for there she wagged her tail.
