Dressed in White.

Silently fall soft snowy bride,
Beneath dull waning moon,
Adorn our naked countryside,
Like white confetti strewn.
Tonight to meet her beau Jack Frost,
She'll wear his sparkling gems,
Lace glinting dress, and veil embossed,
With diamond studded hems.
So many joys can Winter bring,
ย in frozen mystery,
To ย celebrate a baby King,
Bright star of history.
Young children dance 'neath snow-clad roofs,
They sense how Santa's near,
Soon to trace fresh track of hooves,
From his red-nosed reindeer.
I long to see white postcard sights,
Amid sub-zero wind,
While under lonely Christmas lights,
Pray for lost souls that sinned.

Congrats Mizzy!
This is such a beautiful ode to northernย winters and my fascination for it is further enhanced by the fact that I live the tropics, in India. Your style, phrasing and to an extent the rhyming as well reminded me of vintage 18th-19th century poems. Well done! :)
