Drifting

Drifting

Something moves in the angry waves, tonight

Evil legions lurk the seven seas

Though the clouds take away my vision;

I can feel them in the breeze

Pulling on the currents

Stealing the light, from

    The meek moon frightened

The stars hide behind grey curtains

And I’m standing on the edge of fascination

Drifting on the mercy of these turbulent waters

   Only loneliness left as company

Wind whispering promises of comfort to me

   Ancient songs of redemption, as

Seduction floats in the salty wet wind,

Voices rise with melody in their wings

 Sweeter than a lover’s vow

That never leaves the sting, of

   Disappointment or rejection

Comfort and bliss is a Mermaid kiss

Eyes lighting up as a candelabra, fading

Ashen when the daylight comes around

Faces rising swiftly to the surface

Seeing longing

  Radiant skin naked with desire

Perfected

By the agonizing cries of strong men

 Phantoms woken from evil rest

Reaching out their hands

Offering the touch of their eternal death

Fantastic fantasy!

"......I’m standing on the edge of fascination   ..."   That is a superb line!
