Drowning

Drowning

I see myself falling from a height so far up...
I feel myself hitting the dark water below...
Sinking...
Sinking, like a ship that has a leak and is going down fast.
I see my hands reaching out for the surface.
I am clawing the weight of the ocean around me...
Watching as the light gets dimmer.
Further and further I go.
I feel alone as the eerie, grey liquid keeps swallowing me whole.
I don't even try to escape.Β
I don't evenΒ swim up for what I need to survive...
Air.
Because I don't.
And there I go.
Down...
Down..
Down...
And I sink till I can sink no longer.
