Dunkirk

Dunkirk

My dad was a hero to me, survived the beaches of Dunkirk saved by the brave who set sail In their boats of all shapes and all sizes, to save those poor guys on the beaches

My Dad went on to be part of Normandy landings like so many others, thanks to the brave of the boats of all shapes and all sizes that pulled them from the jaws of hell

My Dad was In a Reserved occupation but wanted do his part In the war, by time his boss had realised he had gone my  Dad was over the channel

My dad's finale campaign before coming home
was North Africa
to be a part of Monty's 8th Army
Nicknamed Desert rats, this poems is a tribute to them and all who fought In the war

A tribute not only to my Dad
But to all brave men
and women who sacrificed In order to keep us all safely back home, I honour each and every one of them God bless them all Thankyou.
