DUST TO DUST

Not of heavenly material was I created
But from the earth's dust
My skin evermore reflects
The mystery of the wind
From its secret abode came
In its clinched fist a scroll secured
Unveiling my name
Man!
He shall be called
Created to walk upright
Filled with wisdom from the heavens
Made to flourish in the day's light
Eternal breath energizing my soul
From eternity life traveled
To this house of clay
I became alive a creature of reasoning
Faithfulness and obedience pillars of the way
But by lustful desires
Righteous reasoning became corrupted
I stumbled and fell from heavens best
And in an instant my integrity was compromised
And my glorious future became a victim of the dust
