E

E

The beginning was whispered
On the verge of not there

But one night, on one rooftop,
Their thoughts stripped them bare

Views flowed like red wine
From a bottle of lips

In a novel forgotten
Laughter tainted the scripts

Then down in the dungeon
Carnal urge replaced dreams

Sacred bodies half shielded
To keep stitched fragile seams

______________________

Her seams have but weakened
Worked loose by pure trance

But some adverse nostalgia
Board and bolt up her stance

A dark storm of emotion
Cries outside, for her

Alone, she lay naked,
In affectionless blur

______________________

The last drop of rain
Disappears as he flees

And finally dehydrated,
Her body’s at ease

______________________

This drought, however,
She begins to deplore

On her knees,
Seams torn open,
She begs for downpour
