The Earth's affair

When the wind arrives
he humps the Earth
without warning and consistency
sometimes fast and hard
and at others slow and steady

 the Earth, rather than resenting 
welcomes him because he removes 
the pock marks from her skin
and gives birth to new kin (the flowers!)

Though he may leave
 a few collected dunes and lumps
they are just love marks 
to keep her company til he returns
and like always he leaves right after he's done

but the wind doesn't know 
(or refuses to aknowledge)
is that the earth has love marks he didn't make
for when he's gone 
she is kissed by the sun
(on a daily basis at that)
is watched by the moon at night
(so that she may be safe)
 is carressed by the water
(gentle and soothing)
and the fire under her shifts hot plates
(so as to massage her)

The Earth is loved by many
and the wind may be too stubborn to aknowledge this
or maybe it's because
even though he knows
 he ignores it
and maybe deep deep down
 in the earth's iron heart
she truly loves every one of her admirers
and maybe she has so many lovers
because she cannot choose
wich she likes most
and maybe she wants to love all of them equally
even though it is impossible
but who knows it is Earth
