EarWax

EarWax

I flushed out
an old memory
like embedded earwax
it required a lavage

Crusted
and in pieces

I realized though
it became apart
of me

It no longer had
A PLACE
just useless
matter
that obstructs
the senses

Kinda felt
like
a weight lifted

when I removed
you
from my thoughts
my dreams
and my heart

and

Though I realized
you once belonged

the hurt
of your vacancy
was not
of  you

it was the
reaction
I gave
that haunted me

Regret
smells
if you let it

Enjoying the moment
is forgotten
if you are a slave
to the past

Experiencing the now
is the pearl
unnoticed
and if left unattended
will be swept out to sea

Be the Captain
to your ocean
Be the commander
to your destiny
