Earthly silence holds up high
A ghostly east bound moon
It hovers in the dusky sky
A mourning thing...too soon
Birds chitter, fuss, in half dark
day
Hedgerow fingers stretch and
sway
And there above, large
mountain looms
Weeping down condolence
gloom, as
Breeze blows far from other
worlds
Causing leaves to lift and swirl
In dances under east bound
moon
Who moans a whispered
grief...too soon
And there, a tiny church light's
up
Pours comfort on a half lit
night
And chimneys smoke their
spirals high
From cottages of nearby
And does a woman sit alone
On crumbling bench of ancient
stone
Eyes fixed upon the flowered
wreaths
In colours of a too hard grief
A'neath the shades of
eastbound moon
Who casts a hue of grief... too
soon
A ghostly orb in half dark light
As earthly silence stills a half
lit night
