Easy Travel

Easy Travel

In the old days, someone said: 'None of us have been there,'
now, we go everywhere - flew to New York on Concorde so fair,
came back on the QE2 amazing what you can enable,
the Mayoress of Dunstable had lunch at the captain's table.

But you haven't been to the places that I visit in my mind,
I was with God and the angels where I nicely dined;
Gaugin and I in Tahiti while you sweated under a palm tree,
I'll send you a postcard - you'll never have my mystery.

I came back wearing an aquascutum coat and a gold tie,
the prodigal son returned and mother gave a little cry;
so where was best - it had to be heaven, decent spirits,
no more snidey ghosts who never knew their limits.

Mr. Hindsight could have changed a few things here and there,
but we can smile now that we have the time to stand and stare.
