Poem -
Echo Chamber
A minnow trap for
miniscule minds
struggling to see
past their own chin...
A whirlpool of
hate and anger
raging within...
Right wing or left
Don't give fuel to this this thing!
It knows no metamorphosis
only hate, fear & death...
Destruction it brings
Facebook & Hatebook
both the same thing
a poison heinous creature
choose the pinchers
or the sting
Don't be a scuker
for the echo chamber
it will draw you in
a mealstrom full
of fear and hate
based on the colour
of skin
Farage freaks
and left wing geeks
can't see the sun
for hate filled clouds...
Your grandfather's
killed Nazis...
I hope you've made
them proud!

I quit FB for the same reason many years ago. The best thing I ever did too. Great write.

I no longer live in London my home town, or in the UK I don't recognise it anymore when I see it, sad how the world and social media has killed much that once was good, I never had Facebook, but just this evening I was scrolling through the Instagram haters who bring a sick glory to stealing stabbing and hurting others and your last lines say it all, why did our grandfathers seemingly waste their time and bravery for what is now a very ugly world. I'm not even a fan of wasaap. I saw a wonderful piece of art of Banksy with a thousand video cameras around a baby cot and it has always stuck with me, how true he sees this world. Thank you for sharing your poetry it's quite brilliant.
