Poem -

Ego

What happens to a world without love?

What happens to a world without compassion?

What does it mean to love and have compassion?

Can you say that you believe in God’s compassion and yet spew hate towards your fellow man?

Are you content with the injustices that go on around you?

Do you know your voice?

Do you use your voice for good?

Can you distinguish when to turn the other cheek?

How do you sleep at night knowing your heart is beating black from the hate?

Are you so selfish and narcissistic that you cannot admit your mistakes?

Why is it so hard to say “I’m sorry?”

Why is it so hard to admit you are wrong?

Have we fought relentlessly to only repeat our same mistakes again?

Do you ever question yourself and think that there might be a different way other than hate?

How do you see the world around you?

Is it a mine for you to leech off of until its blood has run dry?

Can you see the beauty and diversity on earth?

Can you feel the heartbeat of the sun?

Can you feel the sun light touch your skin?

Do you see me?

Am I your equal?

Do you realize we are all the same?

Can you see that we’re one?

Did you know that in your reflection...

 you see me?
