THE ELEPHANT WHO LOST HER TRUMPET!

THE ELEPHANT WHO LOST HER TRUMPET!

Nelly was an elephant who liked to sing a song

One day she blew her trumpet, but the tune it came out wrong!

The animals in the jungle joked “your trunk’s packed up and left!”

But she did not find it funny; poor old Nelly felt bereft!!

She blew all day; she blew all night; she blew so hard with all her might!

“Oh my gosh!  What will I do?”  Poor Nelly was feeling very blue!

She wiped a tear and trundled off, to a place where she could hide

She’d not just lost her trumpet but more importantly her pride!

As she peered into the river, saw her reflection down below

She questioned what to do? Perhaps the croc would know!!

Old croc lazed in the shallows; he liked to have a sleep

Waiting for a morsel; one eye open so he could peep!

“Can you help me ...” said poor Nelly, as she approached the grumpy croc

“...... I’m getting teased ... my trumpets gone!! The animals they all mock!”

“Have you been to see the doctor?  Mr Chimp ... he’s rather clever!”

“I haven’t said the elephant, not needed to .... not ever!”

So she went to see the doctor who listened to her plight

“I think I know what’s wrong with you; you’re going to be alright!”

“You’ve got a common problem, it’s a frog stuck in your throat!

The river carries many things, you must watch out for what’s afloat!”

"So what’s the answer doc?" ....  but the doc just gave a grin

He kicked old Nelly from behind, and the frog flew in the bin!!

Nelly smiled the biggest grin; and sucked in a gust of air

Let out a great big trumpet!!! ... now all you jungle animals be aware!!
