Emerging from the darkness
Emerging from the darkness
Tentative steps into our garden
Skinny and underfedÂ
Urban life , You have to use your headÂ
- Otherwise you go hungry .
The law of the wildÂ
City dens to bring up your child
The animals take what humans release
Mainly left overs and never a feast .
- Nocturnal foraging
before receding back into the darkness .

Hi Chris...this is a deliciously dark write It has an aura of mild threat. Life as it really is minus the roses...great stuff x
Good evening to Marion and thank you for your lovely feedback and I love your interpretation . The inspiration was we actually feed a fox family leaving out some dog food in our garden and the way they come for it , got my grey matter thinking ! I will look forward catching up with your latest writes soon and send warm wishes to a fine poetess , Chris X
Fantastic Chris, love the blended imagery between the perspective of humans and animals. Really builds a sense of mystery throughout your write. Really enjoyed this one!
Good morning Max and as always sorry for not the quickest reply ! The inspiration for this poem actually came from me feeding the urban foxes in my garden ! Hoping a dear friend and talented poet is well and keep up the great writes , Chris :)
How well you have exposed the creepy reality of life Chris. The contrast of nature with our concrete environment. How humans are quite cold and sinister in reality. Great visuals throughout that really submerge the reader in to the darknessÂ
Gwen :)Â
