Empty Spaces, Shattered Souls

Our hearts are fully broken, our souls shattered to their cores;
For all we see are empty spaces, with you not in them any more!
We cry each waking hour, we miss you so terribly;
We still look expecting to see you, in those places you used to be!

Your four beddies throughout the whole house, now lay barren and unused;
The three places with your bowls of water, now lay empty, once infused!
The two plates from which you ate off, have no food on them to eat;
The tile floors you no longer lay on, to get cool from summer’s heat!

But the biggest bit of emptiness, is the void within our souls;
For you were their cohesive, the one that kept them whole!
Now they’re in a million pieces, sobbing and ever blue;
Their implosion was instantaneous, in that moment that they lost you!

                                 Our souls lay empty
                         Once filled with your sweet love
                                  Paradise now lost
