Empty Wells

Empty Wells

She walks amongst the past,
the empty shells;
ruins cast,

and its not just her;
it's the latest,Ā
and the last,

those just born,Ā
those just older,Ā
they senseĀ
the warmth once there.
Now,
it's colder.

Our music now instant,
our world so distant.

We twitter a friend,
they tweat back,
and in the end,
the person within
is what we lack.

We forgot the being
amongst those being,
the soul but a ghost.
We pretend to know
what we're seeing.

But in the midst
of instant travels,
we hide the fact,
that life unravels.

We have all now,Ā
in an instant.
like a passing cloud,
we enjoy its beauty,
and then its gone...
memories so distant.

We see the past
the ruins,
the empty shells,
drawing now our water
from empty wells.
