The end of God

The end of God 

As he walk down 
Past the cross 
Where his son lay 
Past the tomb 
The church of the 
Holy Sepulchre
Into the scene of the nativity 
Where a baby was born 

It was there that a knife 
Was drawn 
And into the back of God 
In the shape
 of the Holy Cross
Blood 

And there we lay 
Our souls forever in tears
The salt bitter and the years 
Dead to taste 
The end of God 

God of our fathers 
Can you not see the suffering 
Jesus is on the Holy Cross
Screaming out for the father 
That he shall come to pass 

And he did
