The End Of My Stay

Deadly bubbles squeeze from viscous heaps
Disturbing the mist as over marsh it creeps
Landscape sparsely dotted with strangled trees
Skeletal remains stand as helpless pleas
Sickly sweet vapours are draped through the air
Darkening the night with their smell of despair
Blood red fluid seeps through oozing grooves
Pulsating life as it side-winding moves
Jelly slime quivers to an unknown beat
Glistening, writhing on soil’s steady heat
Scorpions, metallic, smug in their armour
Menacingly march with poised poison ardour
The distance yields fierce griffon’s growl
In hideous harmony with pack wolves howl
Long fanged bats flying crackling make
Searching for blood for thirsts to slake
Hell hags screech through burning sulphurs trail
Slow strangled scream ends in frothy wail
Past stained jagged rocks with vultures upon
Swirling forces drag my form further on
To white hole in the ground, tortured land’s only light
The peculiar flare of souls burning bright
On to the edge, to the end of my stay
A footstep, a heartbeat, a lifetime away
