enemies of time.

I went to the sea today
To find that familiar place inside my heart
searching for some form of comfort
But the waves didn't greet me the same,
Had something inside me changed
in some way I always knew it would,
Nothing stays the same,
Time moves on as do days into years,
I once looked upon it without doubt
without fears,
though today I drowned within my own hope
as each wave left me furthermore breathless,
We had become enemies of time
and time did not know me anymore,
today I became a memory of who I used to be,
I once stood victorious by the sea
though today the waves had forgotten me.
