ENGLISH STRAWBERRIES

ENGLISH STRAWBERRIES

As I looked out on a blanket of snow
I consoled myself knowing there was three months to go
The first English strawberry in the shops would then appear
A sight of happiness I get every year

I would hurry and rush to the supermarket store
Getting my English strawberries by the score
For me an English strawberry is the ultimate dream
Served on their own or with lashings of cream

So winter snow please leave and disappear
Three months to wait before my English strawberries are here
