ENVY
Inner flames

How is it,Â
That you have captured my soulÂ
Someone as free spirited as I
One whose love precedes selfish intentionsÂ
So gentle, as to never kill a flyÂ
I give my last to him that ask
No matter the color of ones skinÂ
Always ready to lend a helping handÂ
Never being content,
On the outside looking inÂ
From whence did you came unannouncedÂ
How did you slip pass my contented mind
I saw, I desired, I became inflamedÂ
And envy became a friend of mine
Like a cloak I covered my sin
Pretending to have peace withinÂ
But envy has a hold on meÂ
And until my heart is satisfiedÂ
Its powers, won't let me beÂ
But now that I have confessed my sin
Hoping for deliverance through faithÂ
Please take into consideration my humilityÂ
And deliver me from envyÂ
Before it's too late.

What a story of acceptance but self love through pleading for mercy based on humility , that speaks highly of your self-reflection and self-image. Through acknowledgement, acceptance, desire and faith I don’t think there’s anything we can’t overcome however I really grasped the strength in your belief for realizing it’s not about you only but your understanding of faith cleansing you of your guilt . Powerful write and a lot to be taken from it .Â
Wow! Shallow Waters..
what a wonderful comment.. as always, I can see you took your time to read, analyze and comment on my humble write.
i was not expecting such on this one.. but thanks for being an encouragement.
be blessed.
I see similar parallels in our styles as we expose our weaknesses but not to dwell as much as to admit and accept they are there , but we rather focus on the solution as we “KNOW” what it takes to overcome but finding the strength can be a challenge . We could get by with less effort but that’s not what life is about , We need to be the best version of ourself not for anyone else but “US” and when we do the Queen will come seeking !Â
Amen to that Shallow Waters..
and just so you know.. I am inspired and draw strength from lots of writers on Cosmofunnel.. I love the varieties.. each snowflake unique.. but nevertheless,
painting a beautiful picture of a winters experience.
Thanks again for that awesome compliment my friend.
Keep shining your light.
You as well my brother , Godspeed!Â
Such mindfulness in this write Wilfred. You are forever self evaluating and growing. A beautiful thing to witness, as it shines through your writings.
Yes Envy is an ugly thing that we all can slip into. But if we become mindful of it surfacing, we can rationalise our minds and feelings. Take control and change. Which is what I sense is happening here in this fabulous writeÂ
Gwen :)Â
