Equal Existence

Equal Existence

Let's be honest here.
We all know it's there.
The elephant in the room
hasn't disappeared into thin air.

Lately, every morning
after my face is washed and dried
a news anchor comes on and
a man, a woman, a child has died.

Everyone puts up a defense.
He's White, He's Hispanic, He's Black.
No excuses for the dignity
that some of us lack.

The pigment of our skin is irrelevent.
You aren't superior.
We are all the same;
none inferior

Nice job Sydney,

A bold and honest step to be made and a job well done should be rendered of all mankind to you Sydney Smith, whom vows to throw the rock for all equal justice for all and your hand, not you hide....Beautiful poem and very kind heart, to match...Has a very nice rhythmatic flow as well...

Kind regards,

Jim
