Establishment Elites

They fill us with all of their illusions,
Until our minds, abound with confusion.
O they hypnotise in red, white and blue
Via time- honoured means; nothing is new.
They always proclaim their undying love to
Queen and country, even though it's untrue.
They always patronise from way up above.
For them their biased designs are enough.
While we organise from the bottom up,
They try to shut us down by means corrupt.
They convince most that constant war is right,
While peace mongers are labelled as a blight
On our unique, hallowed 'democracy.'
O fiction is fact in Dear Old Blighty.
They detain, torture and then crucify
Whistleblowers using poisonous lies.
Some are on trial in our kangaroo courts.
And we know how High Court judges are bought.
Yet, known war criminals are knighted.
It's good to know we're being enlightened.
I sense disdain at the heart of the state
For us all. I can imagine them say
'Keep on working peasants, then make merry.'
They do not want us to perceive truly.
We are expected to keep consuming
And just shut up. O we must keep on singing
Secular songs of freedom, while engaging
In double-think! It's ugly and depressing.
Just watch, it won't be long before they play
Politically correct cards. Some say
That they are currently clutching at straws.
Perhaps, that why they're opening their doors
To all and sundry. Yet it is rigid
Dogma that they endorse. It's in their blood.
They co-opt artists and celebrities.
Alas, only a few of us are free
To express ourselves without self- censorship.
For the elites don't yet have us in their grip.
