Eternal Hold
How cut my heart
to feel your pain
a dragon's lash
to my soul be slain
The blood runs through
as veins entwined
creation to eternal
our existance be bind
A King's ransom
for a Prince I'd give
to know your happiness
born and live
Stones of despair
fall from my aspires
that tormenting demons
return to Hell bound fires
May mortals sense
your unique wise
know the treasured worth
behind sad eyes
That you'll walk strong and proud
through jagged glass
be still so fine
oh beautiful fractured
child of mine
I'll Eternally hold your heart

Yes you're right it's about me and my son who is twenty and has had some problems. He called the other day and said something and I immediately felt his pain which is where the poem came from. Thanks for your comment always appreciated x

From one mother to another......excellent write. Truth....plainly spoken in poetic gesture. A very potent poem. I'm sure all mother's of grown children, have experienced this at one point or another. Yet, doesn't it comfort the soul to know....other mother's understand? We need to encourage and share in poetic verse....convey strengths and weaknesses and depth of emotional spectrums.
